Mudroom
Enter Goldfinch Cottage via the mudroom, with coat hooks and a boot tray to store your outdoor wear.
Kitchen & Laundry
The kitchen is stocked with everything you should need for your stay including cookware, barware, bakeware, tableware for 8, linens, small & large appliances, pantry staples, cooking essentials, and more. The washer and dryer are located in the kitchen and are available for your use. A complete checklist of available amenities can be provided upon request.
Dining Room
The dining room includes a dining table that seats six, plus a drop leaf table that can expand for additional seating. The dresser contains playing cards, games, and puzzles.
Living Room
Relax in the living room with two separate seating areas, a wood burning fireplace, a 32” TV with Roku that swivels for viewing from either seating area, high-speed internet and wifi, and a Bluetooth speaker.
Bedroom 1 (The Sunroom)
“The Sunroom” is on the 1st floor and has a queen bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower.
Bedroom 2 (The Yellow Room)
“The Yellow Room” is on the 2nd floor and has a queen bed, large closet, dresser, nightstand with storage drawers, and a multi-port USB charging station.
Bedroom 3 (The Blue Room)
“The Blue Room” is on the 2nd floor and has two twin beds, large closet, small dresser, nightstand with multi-port USB charging station, and wall mounted, dimmable reading lights.
Bathroom 2 (second floor)
Bedrooms 2 and 3 share the second floor full bath.
Library (2nd floor landing)
Enjoy some of our favorite books for kids and adults, many with Maine connections, curated by Derek!
Office (Garage Room)
This office is a quiet workspace with wifi and a view, away from household commotion. It is seasonal as the garage is unheated, but the electric space heater helps take the chill off.
Outdoors
Goldfinch Cottage sits on a half acre property with old stone walls and perennial gardens. Enjoy the private garden terrace with bistro set, a gas grill, hammock with hanging straps, and a Solo Stove smokeless fire pit.
Additional Notes
The bedrooms are small, but 6’3” Derek insisted that bigger beds were worth the sacrifice in floor space! Each bedroom has a large clothes closet. Bedroom 1’s closet is in the ensuite bathroom. All beds come with pillows, mattress protectors, and comforters in duvet covers. Extra blankets are available. Please bring your own sheets, pillowcases, and bath towels.
Goldfinch Cottage can comfortably sleep up to six guests. No pets please.
The cottage does not have central air, but the upstairs bedrooms will have window units during peak season. Each bedroom has a portable fan in the closet.
